My name is Ed Blankinship and as a hobby I build turkey callers. My home is in Chewelah, Washington in the great Pacific Northwest. Hunting and other outdoor activities are just moments away from my front door. The area supports whitetail and mule deer, elk, moose, black bear, cougar and turkeys. With an abundance of public land this is an attractive area for outdoor enthusiasts.

Some of my calls are made with Pacific Yew wood which I harvest locally. Also used are standard call woods, such as Osage Orange, Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry, Padauk, Purpleheart and others. All are hand made and seldom are any two the same.

The types of calls are box call, wingbone yelpers and scratch box calls.

If you would like to see additional pictures of my calls please email me.

I have been interested in wildlife from an early age. Living my youth in the country gave the opportunity to observe the habits and behavior of animals and birds. This experience provided invaluable insight in later years. I have used this in my call making and believe that these early experiences played a great part in my love for the hunting and the outdoors. Here is a photograph showing myself diligently studying the habits of the American turkey. --- Ed
